8/12/09 - Lake City, CO

We had coffee at Mean Jean’s coffee and WIFI shop in Lake City and updated the blog. We had a picnic lunch in one of the Lake City parks, then we drove to the Alferd Packer massacre site and up Slumgullion Pass. We saw the Slumgullion Earthflow which created Lake San Cristobal about 800 years ago. The earth is still flowing downhill here at a rate of about 25 feet per year. At night we had dinner with Will at the Sol Brazilian restaurant in Lake City.
